Hearing Loops are Good for Everyone

Being able to hear and understand each other in any environment is critical for virtually all personal relationships. All of us — those of us who experience some degree of hearing loss and those who are still blessed with healthy hearing — are responsible for good, effective communications with each other.

Why don’t people with hearing loss just wear hearing aids? They do. However, personal hearing devices do NOT resolve hearing loss the same way that eyeglasses restore 20/20 vision to people who need glasses. Hearing aids, cochlear implants and bone conduction devices work well in quiet spaces and within a few feet of an audio source.

Beyond 3-4 feet, consumers typically connect their personal hearing aids, wirelessly, to a sound source (such as a TV) by Bluetooth.
Beyond 10 feet, background noise is typically amplified and distorted by the microphone built into a hearing aid. The wireless solution that is consumer-preferred in these settings is a hearing loop system that broadcasts a clear audio signal to all brands of telecoil-equipped hearing aids, cochlear implants, bone-conduction devices and telecoil receivers.

Hearing Loop Systems are designed to connect people. Whether it’s a one-to-one conversation in a busy airport or pharmacy, or a one-to-many presentation in a theater or stadium, audio clarity and comprehension for ALL is the goal.
