May 4, 2026. APPLETON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (ATW). New technology is getting rave reviews at Appleton International Airport. In fact, the airport is the first in Wisconsin to implement what's called a "hearing loop." When connected, the announcement goes directly into their device, without distortion or background noise. Hearing loops have been installed at every gate in the facility. Airport visitors should just look for the signs alerting them that the technology is available. And utilizing the technology is easy. With the click of a button, the device is connected.
